Simple username changes

This page hosts simple requests for a username change across the Wikimedia network. Requests are processed by stewards and global renamers.

Instructions
  1. Read Wikipedia:Changing username carefully. You must be aware of and understand all the implications of changing your username. Specifically:
    • Your name will be changed to the new one in the page history of every page you've edited, and in all log entries.
    • Your user pages, account preferences, and edits will be moved to the new name. Please do not create a new account or attempt to move them yourself.
    • Links left by your previous signatures will still point to the old userpage; however, a redirect will be created pointing to your new userpage.
    • Understand that using your real name as your username may put you at risk of harassment.
  2. Read the username policy and ensure your new name does not violate it. Usernames must not:
  3. Check that your new username is not already in use by searching for it on Special:CentralAuth. If the name is registered, even on another Wikimedia project, it is taken.
If the target name hasn't made any edits to any Wikimedia project, you may request usurpation at meta:Steward requests/Username changes.
  4. Log in with your current username. Requests will not be approved if the requester is not logged in.
  5. Place your request here.
    • Add your desired username after NEW=.
    • Add a reason for the change after REASON=. Requests without a valid reason will not be approved.
    • Do not change anything else.
  6. Select Publish changes.
  7. Check back on this page periodically to answer any inquiries regarding your request. Consider watching the page so you can monitor updates. Requests may be closed if there are unresolved queries.

Requests that do not follow these instructions or that are grossly malformed are subject to removal.

For stewards, global renamers, and clerks

Only stewards and global renamers have the authority to approve or decline requests. Requests are automatically clerked by a bot, but occasionally human intervention is required, particularly for malformed requests. If you would like to help out with clerking, please see Wikipedia:Changing username/Assistance.

Current requests

Konabear → Blackburn2000

  • Current name: Konabear (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · target logs · block log · list user · global contribs · central auth · Google) (ping user)
  • Requested name: Blackburn2000 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · target logs · block log · list user · global contribs · central auth · Google)
  • Previous renames: current user, target user, Queue: open req, closed req
  • AntiSpoof: antispoof check
  • For global renamer: rename user
  • Reason: Recently my name change from Konabear to Blackburn2000 was approved. My posting were supposed to be reattributed to my new user name for privacy reasons, but only a few were reattributed. I would like to request my original Dec.13 posted to be changed to my new username as well to avoid being contacted regarding this posting in the future. Thank you. Blackburn2000 (talk) 03:08, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • SoxBot has evaluated this request, and a problem(s) was found. Target username exists, and it has edits, deleted edits, and/or log edits. SoxBot (talk) 03:09, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, this username already exists because you recently granted my username change from Konabear to Blackburn2000, But you only reattributed half of my postings on my history page. I would like my original posting from Dec. 16 2006 to be reattributed to my new name, Blackburn2000, if possible. I've had problems with other users identifying me and sending me emails. I tried to contact one of your administrators to do this, but never heard back. I would appreciate the reattribution change of my original Dec.13 posting if you can do it. Thank You. Blackburn2000 (talk)
  •  Bureaucrat note: Full reattribution can take some time. When was the last rename done? We can't merge accounts, so if you're not prepared to wait for the process to finish, or if it's bugged, I can only suggest we rename your old account to another name. What would you like to do? --Dweller (talk) 09:20, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you for taking the time to look at this for me. If renaming my old account to my new username, Blackburn2000, would help change the original posting I created on Dec. 13, then I would like to rename the old account if you think that would help. The purpose of the username change from Konabear to Blackburn2000 was to reattribute all postings with the name Konabear so I could no longer be identified by other users and emailed about my postings. I have only created one page, and all postings were reattributed except for the original posting on Dec. 13. Please do what you think would be best in this case. Thank you again for looking into this. Blackburn2000 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:51, 30 June 2009 (UTC).[reply]
  •  Bureaucrat note: I can rename the few edits left on that account, but not to your new name. We cannot merge accounts. What new name would you like those under? --Dweller (talk) 13:59, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Bureaucrat note: User seems inactive and email not enabled. If no reply by Wednesday, I propose that we interpret the request to the best of our ability. --Dweller (talk) 10:08, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MehdiPedia → MehdiHosseinkouchack

Oldstalker → Iljapetroff

NEBS-Canada → CLMB-Barrie

Clerk note: Are you sure the target username isn't promotional as well? –Juliancolton | Talk 16:01, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CalcbikeUSBPriapPs2 → NEW YYZ

Bureaucrat note: Do you intend to edit the encyclopedia at some point? All your edits have been to user pages or sandboxes. EVula // talk // // 15:51, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jimmy Lavoie → Jimmy

Hushhomewear → Hush homewear

Marketing Coordinator → Kim Hamilton

Svawda → Sjdvda

Fhue → Prbeacon

Johnbull → Britannicus

On realising this username is already taken I have moved the request to usurpations.--Johnbull (talk) 18:38, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aleksandrs Kuzmins → Fuseau

Bureaucrat note: – There is a user:Fuseau on the lv Wikipedia. This user has close to 1,400 edits and still edits actively. If you are not this user, it may be best to consider a different username. While the lvwiki user has not yet taken the Fuseau SUL, he does have the claim to it. What do other 'crats think? —Anonymous DissidentTalk 02:08, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
