Service-based applications (SBA) are computer applications which include search as part of a computer process.
Examples of search based applications include:
- Customer relationship management
- Contextual advertising in an Online advertising system
- The offloading of search from a database index, also known as database offloading
- Logistics operations such as online Tracking and tracing
