Open Cable Application Platform or OCAP is a technical standard, used in North America, based on the European MHP standard. Contrary to MHP, OCAP is publicised there as software standard for interactive television. Like MHP, OCAP is also based on Java, it acts however rather around a subset of MHP admitted functionality, which was defined by Cable Labs.

At present two versions of the OCAP standard exist:

  • OCAP v1.0 - corresponds with MHP v1.0 (current version: v1.0.3)
  • OCAP v2.0 - corresponds with MHP v1.1 (current version: v1.1.2)
