Open-access network
Appearance
In telecommunications, the term Open Access Network (OAN) was coined by Roberto Battiti on 2003 in his article Global growth of open access networks: from warchalking and connection sharing to sustainable business. It refers to horizonatlly layered network architecture and business model that separates physical access to the network from service provisioning. The same OAN will be used by a number of different providers that share the investments and maintenance cost.
