Allen Sharp

Allen Sharp (born 1932) is a United States federal judge.

Sharp was born in Washington, D.C. He received a B.A. from Indiana State University in 1953. He received a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1957. He received a M.A. from Butler University in 1986. He was a U.S. Air Force Reserve Lieutenant Colonel from 1957 to 1984. He was in private practice of law in Williamsport, Indiana from 1957 to 1968. He was a judge to the Indiana Court of Appeals from 1969 to 1973.

Sharp was a federal judge to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. Sharp was nominated by President Richard M. Nixon on September 13, 1973, to a seat vacated by Robert A. Grant. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 4, 1973, and received his commission on October 11, 1973. Served as chief judge, 1981-1996. Assumed senior status on November 1, 2007.
