General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics Corporation with over 8,000 employees. Working in partnership with the U.S. intelligence, maritime, space, and homeland communities, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems delivers end-to-end solutions in systems integration, development, and operations support. They help customers transform data into knowledge by providing the expertise and technical innovation required to ensure successful completion of their demanding, high-stake missions.


Company Overview

Headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, the company specializes in ground systems; cyber security; imagery processing; mission payloads; space vehicles; maritime subsurface, surface and airborne mission systems; and tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination programs for national intelligence. A large portion of the work the company does is classified.

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems was named in 2003 after a reorganization of General Dynamics Corporation, but the mission systems and integration services provided by the company have been an offering of General Dynamics Corporation for over fifty years. The company represents the acquisition and realignment of other well known government and defense contractors including GTE, Lucent Technologies, Digital Systems Resources (DSR), Veridian, Motorola and Spectrum Astro.

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has facilities in different locations throughout the United States including Gilbert, Arizona; Scottsdale, Arizona; Pittsfield, Massachussetts; Greensboro, North Carolina; Thousand Oaks, California; San Antonio, Texas and Bloomington, Minnesota among others.

With over 1,700 system engineers, 1,300 software engineers, 600 mechanical and electrical engineers and 225 research scientists, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems focuses on building and integrating the sensors that collect information, the systems that analyze data and the networks that manage information for its customer.


Cyber Security

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is one of three of General Dynamics business units that provides cyber security offerings to the government. These programs and products include: Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center, United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT), DARPA National Cyber Range, and the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Information Network.
