Founded at the turn of the millennium, Subatomic Sound System is a New York City and Brooklyn that brings together musicians, producers, DJs and visual artists from a variety of backgrounds and traditions to form a collective that has built a reputation worldwide for genre bending production, forward thinking application of new music technology, and a subsequently unique adaptation of 1970’s Jamaican sound system culture and dub reggae studio techniques to current music genres and live performances.

PERFORMANCES

Fall of 2001: Subatomic Sound System caused a controversy after winning the Redbull Vinylab competition in New York City using an early incarnation of DJ software on a laptop at a time when laptops were not publicly accepted tools in musical performance.

July 19, 2009: Subatomic Sound System is scheduled to perform at Summerstage in Central Park, New York City along with Lee "Scratch" Perry, Dubblestandart, and Alpha Blondy.
