Blind deconvolution
Appearance
Concept
Suppose we have a signal, and it is transmitted trough a channel. Usually the channel can be modelled as a linear system, so the receptor records the convolution between the original signal and the channel. If we want to reverse the effect of the channel, and obtain the original signal, we must process the recorded signal by another linear system with the inverse response of the channel. This system is generally known as an equalizer.
If we know the original signal, we can obtain an equalizer designin a [Wiener Filter]. But if we don't know the original signal, than we are lost as a blind man in a gunfight.
That's why techniques for blind deconvolution were designed.
