There is a list of existing map tutorials, further more are welcome ! French users have provide somes, and traductions into English would be welcome.
To obtain some SVG map background, the best place are the category SVG maps, and even more Location_maps (2008 standard) and their respective sub-pages. The tutorials below follow the learning way of an hypothetical new map maker, more you go down, more that's complex... and beautiful ;)
