Direct Injection - also known as D.I. may refer to:

  • a method of music production whereby studio instruments, especially bass guitars, can be plugged directly into a mixing console for a better, more present signal and sound. This is as opposed to miking up a bass amplifier. This techinque was developed by Paul McCartney in 1967 during the recording of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".
