Object Data Manager is a database of system and device configuration information integrated into AIX. Example of information stored in the ODM database are:

  • network configuration
  • LVM configuration
  • installed software information.
  • Devices that AIX has drivers
  • Logical devices or drivers
  • physical hardware device installed
