In mathematical ecology, a community matrix is a matrix whose eigenvalues determine the stability of singular points in the Lotka–Volterra predator-prey model.
- point is unstable if Re λ > 1,
- point is stable if Re λ < 1,
- point is neutrally stable if Re λ = 1
