Background

Robocop: Prime Directives (PD) is the direct to TV Robocop series released in 2000. The series consisted of four feature length movies released in this order: Dark Justice, Meltdown, Ressurection, and Crash and Burn. Soon after release, the DVD's became available for purchase, often at greatly discounted prices through eBay and Amazon.com

Fireworks entertaintment stated that they wanted to make use of the TV rights to Robocop before they expired, and thus ordered that PD be made, and that Julian Grant would be the director.
