Signature problem

I edited your signature on the Reference desk page. You had unclosed tags that changed the text to small green characters. So, all the text from your signature to the bottom of the page was small and green. --Kainaw (talk) 00:31, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

HTML tidy

If I've turned off formatting in my signature, then why does it look like this now?--[[User:Hello fromSPACE|'''<font color=blue>Hello</font>'''<small>''''from'''</small>''''<small>SPACE</small>'''<font color=green><span style="background-color: black"><span>]] 01:03, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Turning off formatting (you mean "raw signatures", right?) just makes the server add the link automatically, and treats the signature as text (as if it were within a <nowiki> block). You just have to also erase your signature, or change it to something without formatting directives. --cesarb 01:11, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, that would explain it, is this any better?--Hello fromSPACE 01:13, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, much better. The problem with the original sig is that you had <font color=green> without a matching </font> to turn it off. You also had sup and span tags without /sup and /span to turn those off. --Kainaw (talk) 01:20, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
