History
Vishwanath Alluri founded IMI Software Ltd, (IMIsoft) in 1988 with a focus on developing software products for designing and detailing of power transmission and telecom towers.
After several years, IMIsoft diversified into the design and development of technology platforms for the mobile data space. Vishwanath and Shyam Bhat (CTO) established a new division - IMImobile, in 1999 with a vision to become an eminent provider of technology platforms and value-added services aimed at unlocking new revenue streams from the rapidly expanding mobile data services market.
In 2006-07 the engineering division was hived off as a separate company - IMI Soft Engineering Pvt. Ltd. and the name of the main company IMI Software Ltd was changed to IMImobile Pvt. Ltd.. In 2008, Ramboll Group of Denmark acquired majority stake in IMI Soft Engineering Pvt. Ltd.
