The Democracy Tree as it is popularly known is a rain tree in the city of Ipoh in Malaysia where a Perak state lawmakers held an emergency assembly after being blocked by police from entering the state secretariat building, where such assemblys are normally held. See 2009 Perak constitutional crisis
