Lepyronia quadrangularis is a species of spittle bug that can be found in many places in the world. The adults are brownish with two oblique brown bands that are across the hemelytra which are tipped with a small blackish curve. The eggs are laid between leaf and main stem of grasses from midsummer to late fall. The nymphs feeds and molts under spittle and hibernates in the egg stage. The food that the species eats is grasses, shrubs, and herbs. Its common name is Diamond-backed spittle bug.[1]
