Critical Path Method of Scheduling
Critical Path Method of Scheduling is one of the most effective methods of scheduling for Construction projects today. It was first developed by DuPont several decades ago and is now in common practice not only in construction, but in several other fields such as software project management, research projects, product development projects etc. Any project that has a large number of interdependent activities can apply this theory of scheduling and figure out what activities are critical to the completion of a project and what activities have some float time.
Currently, there are several software solutions available in the industry today which uses CPM method of scheduling. Some examples are Microsoft Project, Primavera Project Planner, SureTrak etc.
