Cartesian Perceptual Compression (abbreviated CPC) is a file format specifically designed for the compression of black-and-white raster images in document image storage and transmission systems. The format is also effective in the compression of black-and-white photographs and line art. The format is most often used in the web distribution of legal documents, design plans, and geographical plot maps.
