CSS Animation is a module of Cascading Style Sheets which allows for the animation of XML elements using CSS.

Browser support

As of 2009, CSS animation is only available as a module in the nightly builds of WebKit[1][2].

Controversy

The specification of CSS animation has drawn concern from those who prefer animation through JavaScript[3][4] or, to a lesser-used extent, SMIL.
