General Shankar Roychowdhury (General S. Roychowdhury) (born September 6, 1937, Kolkata) served as 18th Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army from 22-November-1994 till 30-September-1997.

He has received the Param Vishisht Seva Medal for distinguished service to the Indian Army and to the nation.

He also became member of Rajya Sabha after his retirement.
