Dingbat2007 (28-Dec-08)

  • Supporting evidence:: Typical behavior of banned user Dingbat2007, including creating usernames with name followed by two-digit number - in this case "Trisha61". Also typical of Dingbat behavior is creating many new stub TV articles in a short period of time, almost always with fictitious information. Examples from this section:
    • KHHH-LP - Fictitious affiliations, current and former - there is no record of any affiliation in any reliable source.
    • KRUB-LP - Fictitious affiliation and channel number. Application to change channels was dismissed.
    • KCRE-LP - Fictitious affiliation. No reliably-sourced information exists for the station's programming.
  • Amarillo, Texas, stations are usually a target for Dingbat, as he claimed to have been born there in 1994, and there are plenty of Amarillo stations in this group:

  • Supporting evidence:: Typical behavior of banned user Dingbat2007, including creating usernames with name followed by two-digit number. It looks like "Trisha" will be a new line of named socks. Also typical of Dingbat behavior is creating many new stub TV articles in a short period of time, usually with the same affiliation - whatever the user is fixated on at the time, but usually involving NBC entities; first NBC WeatherPlus, now ShopNBC - and almost always with fictitious information. Examples from this section:
    • K21EK - Fictitious former channel, affiliation - there is no record of a former channel or retransmission of another station in FCC database.
    • KSWR-LD - Fictitious founded date, affiliation - the station's original CP was issued in 2002, not 1995; owner is Una Vez Mas, an affiliate of Azteca America, not ShopNBC.
    • K16HB - Fictitious founded date, affiliation - the station's original CP was issued in 2007, not 1989; station is not yet on the air, so affiliation could not be known.
    • K20JO - Fictitious founded date, affiliation - the station's original CP was issued in 2007, not 1993; station is not yet on the air, so affiliation could not be known.
    • K38HD - Fictitious founded date, affiliation - the station's original CP was issued in 1989, not 1997; no documentation supports ShopNBC affiliation.
    • KABS-LP - Fictitious founded date, affiliation - the station's original CP was issued in 2005, not 1995; owner is Una Vez Mas, an affiliate of Azteca America, not ShopNBC.
    • K46JE - Fictitious founded date, affiliation - the station's original CP was issued in 2007, not 2002; station is not yet on the air, so affiliation could not be known.
Amarillo, Texas, stations are usually a target for Dingbat, as he claimed to have been born there in 1994, and there are plenty of Amarillo stations in this group.[2][3][4][5]

Most of these are very old now -- there is a limit to how long CU data is kept. A brief look at this shows that the IP addresses used reflect the list given above -- they are pretty much anywhere in the 75.0.0.0/7 range. This is obviously far too big to block. User has a pattern of making minute edits to articles, always without explanation, and usually involving changing the year. To the uninitiated, this can appear to be merely a content dispute, but the edits are generally random and show no forethought. User also creates articles for low-power stations that, in some cases, do not exist, but often assigns them made-up affiliations such as with HSN, or with cable-only networks such as NBC WeatherPlus, Disney Channel, and TV Land. User has long displayed pattern of large-scale nuisance editing, requiring extensive time to research and to clean up.

  • WLBT - as 75.62.206.181, adds bogus NBC Weather Plus affiliation
  • WLBT - as Word42, adds bogus NBC Weather Plus affiliation again, after it was reverted
