Progeny Componentized Linux, usually known or called Progeny Debian, is a free Linux distribution that is as a continuation of the project by Progeny Linux Systems which released a popular commercial product knows as Progeny Debian in May 2001.

Progeny Debian is an alternative to Debian 3.1, otherwise known as Sarge. Furthermore, it is based upon the Linux Standard Base (LSB) 3.0, adopting revolutional technology, such as the Anaconda installer ported from Red Hat, APT, and Discover. Progeny Debian aims to be a model for developing a component-based Linux.
