UDP Torrent Protocol is a new protocol based upon UDP. It aims to decrease latency of peers, but still maximize bandwidth when the latency is not excessive. In addition, information from uTP transport, if active, is used to control the transfer rate of TCP connections to prevent disruption of the used internet connection. uTP will be featured in the new uTorrent 1.9.
