award

Is there any award for those that make 100 points?

Or possibly a project award if we can increase the backlog to 200 articles? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:25, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good questions. I don't know about any awards for increasing the backlog though. :) Hmm. We could create some specific barnstars for those that hit a certain number of points. How about 50 (bronze star), 75 (silver), and 100 (gold)? Let me know what you think! TNX-Man 12:52, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Monetary rewards would be nice ;) Martin 13:55, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WPAFC

I've added a parameter to Template:WPAFC which will publicise the fact that an article is involved in the challenge. I intend to undo this at the end of the challenge. Martin 14:54, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Clients

Hey, it would be good to get some of our "clients", the unregistered users, involved in the competition. I'm not sure how to go about that though ... Martin 14:57, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An invitation on their talk page maybe. There have been some repeat contributors in the past, but over time these people provided better and better quality articles anyway. Another way could be a promo on the WP:AFC page header. At the moment it is quite clean. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:33, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The requester of one AFC article I created came back and contributed to its improvement. It would be a shame if only I got credit (in the form of challenge points) for improvements that involved the contributions of several. How can we share the fun/credit around without appearing to be patronising or condescending to our collaborators? --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 10:40, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe we could create a template similar to the one used when an article is created. Something like "The article you submitted (Article Title), has been improved as a part of the AfC Challenge. If you would like to contribute, see WP:WikiProject Articles for creation/AfC challenge. Thank you for contributing!" TNX-Man 14:48, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for getting this competition up and running. I am unlikely to use Wikipedia enough to get many challenge points, but it sounds a lot of fun all the same. I put this page on my watchlist, so I hope to be able to come back and help out with a review or two, so don't forget to add your awaiting review status when your article is ready. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 10:40, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
