The Space Applications Laboratory (LMSAL) is a branch of Lockheed-Martin that is known primarily for its scientific work in the field of solar physics. Located in Palo Alto, California, LMSAL has been involved in many space missions to study the Sun, including SOHO, TRACE, Yohkoh, and the (as of 2005) pending Solar-B and Solar Dynamics Observatory missions.

The LMSAL team has a close affiliation with the corresponding solar physics group at Stanford University.
