Dumpy's Rusty Nuts
A British rock band founded in 1981 by the irrepressible Dumpy. Though unsuccessful as recording artists, the band attracted a cult following for their outstanding live performances in small rock venues. Though playing classic blues rock, their initial audiences were drawn from the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal and they become particularly well-known at the London Marquee club, where they were a regular and popular attraction. Most devotees of heavy metal in England in the 1980's have at some point come across them
Their attempts to become recording artists were sadly doomed from the start. They recorded a debut single JUST FOR KICKS but to get airplay the band had to change their name to DUMPY'S RUSTY BOLTS. The single bombed anyway and the original name was restored. Subsequent sporadic releases have only found favour with their small core audience.
Undaunted, the band has gone on into the 21st century, still delighting audiencies in small venues across Europe.
