US single?
I know this song is to be released as a single in the U.K. (and probably the rest of Europe) but does anyone know if I'm Outta Time is going to be released in the U.S. as well? Is record company going to do the same thing that they did with The Shock of the Lightning and promote it over American radio stations? Because they should, it could definitely become a hit —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.237.198.226 (talk) 01:38, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Actually whatever is played with a G, F#/Dsus2, Em, Dsus2. C, D, G progression and in the bridge transcends to a Em and A7 the C to D and back to a G chord. The second chord is actually a Dsus2 with the finger on the second fret on the sixth string. It can either be played with the add F#/Dsus2 merged chord or a plain Dsus2. It's a G, D, Em progression. 154.5.184.236 (talk) 13:01, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Jealous Guy Revelancy?
Someone posted a small script about how there's supposedly an octave jump similar to Jealous Guy on the piano. I don't hear it. Then there's a line thats supposedly linking that it's intentionally done to be a tribute to lennon. I don't see any mention in the article about the musical idea. It's simply a tribute song, without anything taken directly from a lennon song, and I don't see much of a similarity. You could argue it bears a passing resemblence to lennon's 70's work(why? 'cause it's got a piano? so does most good ballads of the past 10 years and 3/4 of all Coldplay's work). This seems more like a certain author is looking for a bit of a knock on the song. If it is there, I really don't hear it, not like "Stand By Me".
It is EXACTLY like it. The rest of song is not directly like anything Lennon's but that three octave jump is. Gallgher has also claimed that the song was a direct tribute to John Lennon. Listen to it again then listen to Jealous Guy. It is almost cringeworthy when you listen to the jump. It also seems to stand out and it isn't really infitting with the rest of the song.
