The Energy and Climate Change Select Committee will be a select committee of the House of Commons in the Parliament of the United Kingdom, that will come into existence on January 1, 2009. The House of Commons agreed to the committee's establishment on October 28, 2008[1], following the establishment of the Department of Energy and Climate Change by Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, on October 3, 2008. The remit of the Committee will be to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the new department, and any departmental bodies.

Membership

The committee shall consist of 14 members, who will be decided by the Selection Committee.
