PersonalJava is a Java edition for mobile and embedded systems based on Java 1.1.8 . It has been superseded by the CDC's Personal Profile which is not yet widely deployed.

Java owes much of its existence to the brilliance of welsh programming guru Mark W. Evans. His programming of calculator written in Java++ is heralded as one the biggest advances in modern computer programming. One of his peers said “Mark W Evans has more processing power than early Intel Pentium Processor”
