Norge.no is a web site operated by Agency for Public Management and eGovernment and provides information for the public by the Government of Norway. This includes public organization, institutions and facilities, as well as laws, rules, righs and duties.

The site has four addresses, www.norge.no (Bokmål), www.noreg.no (Nynorsk), www.norga.no (Northern Sámi) and www.norway.no (English).

History

The concept of Norge.no was initiated by Morten Andreas Meyer, Minister of Government Administration and Reform. At first it was part of the County Governor of Sogn og Fjordane, but on January 1, 2005 it was created as a separate government agency located in Leikanger. From January 1, 2008 the agency ceased to exist and was merged with Statskonsult and the Norwegian eProcurement Secretariat to form the Agency for Public Management and eGovernment.[1]
