Talk:Future Problem Solving Program International
CMPS
So if anyone knows any CMPSers who would be willing to take a crack at this article, or would be willing to revise it themselves, please do it -- the section as it stands is sadly lacking. UnDeadGoat 23:08, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
It may seem early for related articles, but . . .
There seem to be a lot of changes based on specific FPS affiliates, and sometimes there is a sort of an averaging process, and sometimes it's more of a tug-of-war. But if you want to talk about how you do things, consider starting an article about the FPS affiliate you compete in and linking to it here. (Becoming one of those crazy military history types has inspired me -- now I want to get all organizy and do everything and here's this little corner where I could be someone who gets decisions happened, and --) UnDeadGoat 06:48, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Or, just edit it to show that there are options. I'm not sure if an entire affiliate program merits its own page just because they have regional bowl. --Lowfatsourcreme 12:51, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, if there's anything here but a standard and a mention of where deviations exist, it will get horribly confusing. So articles with stubby sections on things like history (founding, past IC winners, etc) along with longer sections on things that the editor knows all about, like skits/traditions/regionals/etc. UnDeadGoat 02:58, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ooh, I'll make a WI one . . . -- lowfatsourcreme from a different computer
- Wisconsin Future Problem Solving Program -- It's made, but I don't have any sort of list of past winners so it's fairly tiny.--Lowfatsourcreme 20:30, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

- Also, I've been trying to change "state bowl" to "affiliate final" and "state program" to "affiliate" for the new zealand/australian/non-us types. There's probably some non-edited text floating around, but if people notice it, I think it should be changed. --Lowfatsourcreme 12:50, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm from the FPSNZ affiliate, and I would like to make the FPSNZ wiki. Is there anything I should include? I won't redefine the definitions for the competitions, you've done that far too well - I have practically nothing to cover. And is there any type of verification I have to get from FPS International or something? Cerlian 08:59, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Not what we're here to talk about, I know, but who here was at the 2006 IC?

Countries
Does Malaysia actually participate?--Lowfatsourcreme 20:30, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
I'm a fifth grade student and I do FPS but I think it's really very fun.... everyone else thinks it's very boring. I guess my so called advanced knowledge has given me an advantage —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.252.45.127 (talk) 01:43, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
It is quite fun :) Malaysia does participate. Zheliel (talk) 14:37, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
awards section?
What do you guys think about adding a section about what kind of awards FPSP gives out? My first thought when that subtopic came to mind was "regular" awards, but then I realized there's probably not a lot to say about that (I mean, things like "At the international level, awards are given to the top ten teams in every division" etc etc etc). But what I think WOULD be relevant would be maybe some info about the Beyonder Award? Any awards I'm forgetting? I know they just started that "Yes Award" thing...not to be confused with the "No Award for Bad Coaches"...
Just a thought. I wish I could add to the CmPS section, but everything I know is already there!

Future Problem Solving Problems
The article on Future Problem Solving says that the first two problems are not competitive problems, that they are practice problems only. There are affilitates, most notably Kentucky, that use the second problem as the first competitive problem. This is known as the "district" competition problem and the problem is completed in its entiretyBabyquacks77 19:21, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Singapore
I thought that Singapore was going to be an affiliate by 2009? I heard it in the Australian finals 2008.Zheliel (talk) 14:38, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Future scene year mistake?
Why does the section 'Future scene' indicate "...set at some point in the future (usually 20-30 years). Each..."
Shouldn't it be " ...set at some point in the future (usually 20-30 years after the present year). Each ..."Zheliel (I know I'm pro) 14:41, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
I'll change it. Zheliel (I know I'm pro) 14:41, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
