So I was seeing was the line "luvca dzfczvxvf lol" inserted into the beginning of the Yield (engineering) page, that I traced to Template:Mechanical failure modes. I took it out and also removed a couple double pipes that seemed like they shouldn't be there. The problem is that the original problem line "luvca..." is still showing up on the original Yield page. I cleared my cache and refreshed and everything and it's still there. When I go to the page when I'm not logged in, the line doesn't show up, but does when log back in. I even tried logging in from a different browser, and it still shows up then. Any idea what's going on? Quantumlemur (talk) 05:36, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When a template is changed, the pages that transclude it aren't updated immediately on all the cache servers; it happens after a while, but to speed it up, load the article again, and at the end of the URL bar in your browser, add "?action=purge", and then hit enter. That forces the cache servers, all of them, to purge, and make it reload the new template. Read WP:PURGE for more information. You saw it properly when not logged in because you were probably viewing through another squid server. --Golbez (talk) 05:49, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! It's properly gone now. Quantumlemur (talk) 05:52, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
