In baseball statistics, games started (denoted by GS) for a pitcher is the number of games the pitcher has started. The pitcher is credited with starting the game if he throws the very first pitch to the opposing team of a single game. The all-time leader for games started is Denton True Young (Cy Young) with 815 over a 22 year career. The current leader for active players is Roger Clemens. The player(s) with the most starts in a single season are Pud Galvin and Will White with 75 games started each.[1]
