Notch code
Appearance
A notch code is a set of notches or recesses cut into the edge of a piece of sheet film to provide a way to identify the brand and type of film emulsion; and also whether it is Black & White, color negative, or color reversal, allowing processing lab technicians to avoid placing the sheet in the wrong processor.
