Anggitay was a creature with the upper body of a female human and of horse from waist down.[1] They were the Philippine counterpart for the centauride, the female centaurs. They were also believed to be the female counterpart of Tikbalang. It was also believed that the Anggitay usually appears when it is raining while the sky is clear.[2]

Sometimes, they were illustrated to have a single horn in the middle of their forehead just like a unicorn. They were usually said to be attracted to precious gemstones, and jewelries.[3]
