Anggitay was a creature with the upper body of a female human and of horse from waist down.[1] They were the Philippine counterpart for the centauride, the female centaurs. It was also believed that the Anggitay usually appears when it is raining while the sky is clear.[2]

Sometimes, they were illustrated to have a single horn in the middle of their forehead just like a unicorn. They were usually said to be attracted to precious gemstones, and jewelries.[3]
