The William Rodriguez page has been a mess for months now, with edit warring and very likely sockpuppetry. I'm quite sure that Contrivance is a sock of Wtcsurvivor since the new account appeared right away when the previous account was blocked.
- Wtcsurvivor (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki) - blocked in late May for disruption and Wikipedia policy violations, including sockpuppetry using User:Jrandi, which was also an unacceptable username, as it impersonated James Randi. (see the William Rodriguez article to see why this is a problem) User:Jrandi acted a bit like a strawman. Also, I do suspect that this is either the subject of the article or someone close to him, given how dedicated the user has been in editing this article (and pretty much just that article). Also, the tone and content of the edits make this evident. The problems are long drawn out over months before the block.
- Contrivance (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki) - appeared soon after Wtcsurvivor was blocked. Strongly suspect this is a sockpuppet account, circumventing the block.
- Sharphdmi (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki) - possibly a strawman account, possibly a sock. A checkuser might help clarify this. This account also appeared soon after Wtcsurvivor was blocked.

- Celeronel (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki) - this is a new account, started on August 25, which also uses the four "~" in the edit summaries.
- Code letter: FG
Also, the way they all use edit summaries is telling, some adding the four "~" in the edit summary, and other characteristics. In the most recent edit summary by 69.116.203.231, he mentions another user's real first name, [1] With this edit summary, I can't ignore the page any longer. The user's name is known from elsewhere on the Internet, with the dispute carrying over to the Wikipedia page. This is not the first time for mentioning other users' real first names, with this previously done by Wtcsurvivor. [2]
It's very likely that Sharphdmi, Celeronel, and 69.116.203.23 are the same, and think it's obvious that Contrivance and Wtcsurvivor are the same. What's not 100% conclusive is that Contrivance and Sharphdmi are the same, but I do suspect they are. This is where checkuser can help.
I am not an uninvolved admin, but I'm quite tired of this ongoing drama and would like to see this resolved. I'm sympathetic per WP:BLP if this is the subject of the article, but the behavior on the page has been highly disruptive and WP:COI is an issue. --Aude (talk) 15:47, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
