I just noticed that a few of those blurbs (specifically the ones that are causing the "too technical" problem, surprise, eh?) are taken pretty much straight from the SCIM website. That needs to be fixed. --Dirk Gently 16:15:54, 2005-08-11 (UTC)

As it is GNU-stuff, seems to me it's not too necesary. Same about the comment it's written like an advertisement. --82.171.74.245 20:31, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering if SCIM is only for UNIX type platforms. If it is, the site claim that "all platforms" must refer to something else, and thus very misleading. As I came to this page from the page on Chinese, I assumed this glorious new all encompassing IME would be suitable for PC's running Windows, but when I downloaded it, the .tar.tar file made me realise it wasn't. Furthermore, there aren't any recognisable executeables, so I guess its for Unix buffs. Sad really. Dylanwhs 20:45, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Windows already has a perfectly good IM built in, so it's not too sad. — Chameleon 12:12, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just added disambiguation links for SCIM. I've also put togehter a SCIM (disambiguation) page for later use, but right now all but one of the other SCIM terms are either stubs or references within other articles. Once the other articles fill out, I would suggest moving this page to Smart Common Input Method. Greg 21:06, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've rewritten the article a little to try and fix the advertisement problem. Hope this helps. Madmikeuk needs more cowbell. 11:43, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What if there is more than one meaning to this acronym? "acronymfinder.com" lists 11, of which I have contributed one: Service Capability Interaction Manager. And I am more than happy to explain it, if need be. topfner 05:03, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SCIM is a …
