Thin-shell structures are light weight constructions using shell elements.

Shukhov Tower in Moscow - lattice thin shell by Vladimir Shukhov, 1922. Currently under threat of demolition, the tower is at the top of UNESCO's 'Endangered Buildings' list, and there is an international campaign to save it.
