A Unix path is a pathname as used on Unix based operating systems. Unix does not have the concept of drive letters, instead using named mountpoints. Although Windows can use forward or back slashes as path separators, Unix always uses the forward slash.

Windows path:

D:\Music\Favorites\Untitled.mp3

Unix path:

/Music/Favorites/Untitled.mp3
