At least ECS works reliably, even if slow.
Not the least. ECS works reliably (which can't be said of MSI or Abit) and costs mere half of Epox or Asus. ECS is OK for the office, that's why IBM? and like buy their OEM. If you want gaming or CAD use, get something better for fair brand name price, but ECS is enough for many people.
Second-Third Tier
PC Chips (and most of the ECS boards in recent years) are normally considered to be second or third tier boards. Most technicians do not question if they work or not, but the quality and technical support available for the products. I have been a PC Tech for over 20 years, and do not recommend PC Chips, as well as Epox and other lower tier manufacturers because of this reason. The $10-20 saved is often not worth it. And making comments on questionable quality (which is widely known in the industry) is entirely fair when discussing the quality of an item. And in reality, nothing in life is truely "NPOV". However, we should strive in the main body of the article to be as fair as possible to all points, pro and con. Mushrom 20:21, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- I totally disagree. Unfortunately, many reviewers are obviously biased against ECS due to their buyout of PC Chips. ECS has made excellent boards in the past year, such as the NF650iSLIT-A and the PN2 SLI2+ (BEST ECS MOBO EVER!) boards. Wikipedia is not the place for biased opinions. ECS is considered by the industry as a first tier motherboard manufacturer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.116.250.245 (talk) 23:58, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Replaced Taiwanese ECS Entry
The original (as last edited) version of this page was substituted by an entry advertising a Pakistani engineering firm. The entry and short history of the Taiwanese/Chinese ECS firm is incredibly important when trying to trace the correct supplier of Hsing motherboard BIOS updates.
In any case this is not the correct place to advertise Pakistani companies as this page is part of the Taiwan project, I believe.
I have replaced the page with the most recent edit, and would request that it be kept focussed on the original corporate group for the benefit of the millions of legacy computer owners who may need to source bios updates.
