[edit]This page contains information on the included and excluded geographical items in the place-related geographical stubs. This follows from Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Stub_sorting#Africa-stub_scope The listings are not comprehensive and are open to debate.

- Included: Madagascar, the Comoros, Mayotte, Réunion, Mauritius, the Seychelles, the Cape Verde Islands, and the Sinai Peninsula, Zanzibar
- Excluded: Azores (Portugal), Canaries (Spain), St Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha (UK Overseas territories)
Included
- all islands in the Caribbean not politically part of a North, Central, or South American country, i.e., the Greater Antilles and Lesser Antilles, as well as the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands. Puerto Rico is covered by this stub, rather than a US-geo-stub.
- those stretches of water which separate and surround those countries.
- Included: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama
- not included - French overseas départements (e.g., Martinique, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, French polynesia, Guadeloupe)
- Included: Bahrain, Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon
- Excluded: Turkey, Afghanistan, Armenia, Sinai Peninsula
- Included: Holland (see Netherlands#The_Netherlands_vs_Holland)
- Excluded: The Netherlands Antilles
