Living Planet Programme
Appearance
The Living Planet Programme is program within the European Space Agency. LPP is comprised research missions under Earth Observation (see list below) whereas the Earth Watch is to make applicable the Earth Observation data in wether forecasting or resource management.[1]
Currently there are six Earth Observation missions in progress.
- Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer - GOCE - Due for launch in September 2008
- Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity - SMOS[2]
- Atmospheric Dynamics Mission - ADM-Aeolus - Due for launch in 2009
- CryoSat-2 - Due for launch in 2009 (Cryosat [1] was lost in 2005 when the Russian SS-19 "Rockot" malfunctioned and was terminated.
- Swarm - Due for launch in 2010[3]
- EarthCARE (Earth Clouds Aerosols and Radiation Explorer)
- Future Earth Explorers
