Oracle Enterprise Manager contains three releases. The best known release is the one to manage the Oracle Database. This one is the oldest and in previous relaeses it happened to be a Java client able to configure and manage the database. Now a days it is a web based interface to do exactly the same called (1)Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control. For Oracle Application Server there is also a web interface to manage the application server (2)Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Server Control. When one should manage lots of databases and application servers (according to Oracle preferably in a grid solution) one could use the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control (3)Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control. This one is used to manage multiple instances of Oracle delployment platforms.
