The FRU technique.

PC technicians use the FRU technique to service and repair computer systems. The FRU technique involves isolating a PC problem to a specific modular unit and replacing the unit. Using the FRU technique, you can carry out repairs in the field or at the local repair station without complex test equipment or in-depht knowledge of the system.

FRU are:

Motherboard, CPU, ROM, Floppy Drive, Hard Drive, CD-R/RW//DVD, Video ans Sound Card, Memory Medule Cards, Power Supply Unit, Keyboard, Mouse, Printers, Cables.
