National Foundation of Science and Advanced Technologies is a non-profit, voluntary organization established in 1997 according to the legislation of Republic of Armenia. Its mission is to develop the scientific and engineering potential in Armenia helping it not only to occupy a dignified niche among the international scientific community, but also to secure development of Armenia. The distinctive features of NFSAT activities are: Legality, Openness and Equality. NFSAT support is determined exclusively by the scientific significance of initiatives, with no departmental restriction. NFSAT awards all kinds of competitive grants, regardless of the administrative or scientific status, academic degree, and position of scientists. NFSAT allocates funds directly to research groups to support their initiatives, irrespective of the departmental and legal status of an organization, where the research will be carried out. The scientific merit of initiatives is the decisive criterion for support.
