Development chef

A development chef is often a classically trained restaurant chef that now works with one of the major food companies like Marks and Spencer[1] or Tesco[[2]][3] to design chilled or frozen dishes. In a typical year own label food developers will come up with as many as 800 new products all designed and brought to market by development chefs. Anyone looking to become a development chef will either have a served in a professional kitchen or will have a food prepareation qualification. There are however some gifted amateurs that make it throuhg to become successful development chefs.
