Fare basis code

A Fare Basis Code (FBC) specifies the rules of an airline's fare. The FBC code starts with a letter (see Table below) followed by optional letters and digits.

First position in FBC ("booking codes") [1]
Booking codes Description
R supersonic (international only)
P, F first class
A discounted first class
J, C business class
D, Z discounted business class
Y, S, W coach class
B, H, K, L, M, N, Q, T, V, ... discounted coach class
