RAM vs RACI

Why can should there be only one "R" in the RAM? It seems that with the RACI diagram it is possible to have more than one "R". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RACI_diagram What is the essential difference?

The idea that there is only one Responsible is associated with the introduction of Supporting. Of all the Responsible parties in RACI, in this variation one is chosen as Responsible and all other are considered Supporting. This issue is actually not specified in PMI's "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge". RAM's are a tool that has emerged from practice and different organizations use it in a different way. In the German page they also note that the Responsible parties can be multiple. In http://www.valuebasedmanagement.net/methods_raci.html they note that it is unique. Apparently PMI have decided to preserve this freedom in the standardized model. Example Roles

Bjc world (talk) 10:36, 6 May 2008 (UTC) The example should be improved, as it shows people's names (e.g. George), but then refers to roles, but 'George' is not a role, even though he might be take on than role. Note as well that George might assume more than one role, so the example would either have to show multiple letters under George (e.g. R and A) or George would need to be listed more than once.
